Audi Q5 Sportback already on display

The first images of the brand new Q5 Sportback have surfaced in China. The new body style of the Audi Q5, already pictured, explores as an extended Q5L Sportback on the digital channels.

At the beginning of this year, none other than then Audi CEO Bram Schot reported that the brand had a Sportback version of the Q5 in the barrel. That ‘coupé version’ of the Q5 should become Audi’s answer to cars like the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé. Recently, a source at Audi reported to Techzle that more of the Q5 Sportback would be shown ‘soon’. In China, the first photos have now surfaced of the Sportback version of the Q5L sold there. We welcome: the Q5L Sportback.

The Q5L Sportback will not be identical to Q5 Sportback as it comes on the market in the Netherlands, but the car still gives a very accurate impression of what ‘our’ Q5 Sportback will look like. The biggest difference between the Q5L and the here known Q5 is of course mainly in the wheelbase. The distance between the front and rear axles of the Q5L is 8.8 centimeters longer than that of the Q5 in the showrooms here. It is striking that the rear of the Q5L Sportback has no noteworthy different design. The Q5 Sportback that eventually comes to the Netherlands will not deviate from the regular Q5 inside.
