That while the M2 Competition is a fairly special car.
BMW has unveiled a new Special Edition of the M2 Competition. The M2 Competition is a very special car of its own, but it can be added to that.
Today, BMW does that with the M2 Competition that has been taken over by FUTURA 2000, a name that once sounded very progressive. FUTURA 2000 is a very famous graffiti artist. The now 64-year-old New Yorker has bent over the M2 Competition to make it more special.
FUTURA 2000 (secretly simply called Leonard Hilton McGurr) has tackled a few M2 Competitions, three to be exact. These are the so-called “one-offs”. He actually treated the cars with his own and apparently unique style. One of these three copies will be exhibited at the Frisian Los Angeles fair.
BMW M2 Edition Futura
The consumer can of course also enjoy the artist’s excesses. BMW is also going to build a special series of “Edition Futura” models from the M2 Competition. These are equipped with two-tone sports seats upholstered in Dakota leather. These are equipped with Polar blue stitching. The steering wheel is from Alcantara, including a gray oversteer indicator. On the outside, you will be able to subtly see the FUTURA 2000 reference on the skirts of the M2 Edition Futura.
The M2 Edition Futura is based on the M2 Competition and shares its 410 hp strong six-in-line. BMW Netherlands is going to try to get some of these copies to the Netherlands. The Edition Futura is one of the few ways to get an M2 with different upholstery, there is not a lot of choice ex-factory and the M2 Competition does not have an “Individual” program. Even if you squeeze the configurator, there are many options.
