Brabus Rocket 900 ‘One of Ten’ has an extra half liter

Brabus has thoroughly revamped the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S. The five-door sports fan now has – if he did not already have one – thick fenders, exuberant spoiler work, extravagant details and half a liter extra. Then we are of course not talking about the luggage compartment.

Nowadays, the AMG V8 always measures a cylinder capacity of four liters. Not enough, says Brabus. Where some tuners make it easy by only tackling the software, the company from Bottrop goes to work more thoroughly. Brabus increases the V8 to 4.5 liters and adjusts, among other things, the intake section, pistons, crankshaft and turbos. In fact, this bike has little in common with the original. Of course there is also another outlet screwed underneath. The result? 900 hp and 1,250 Nm of torque, where the torque is limited to 1,050 Nm to keep things intact. According to the tuner, the Rocket launches to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds and reaches 300 km / h in 23.9 seconds. At 330 km / h the cake is over. Not because the moving rocket is then out of breath, but because you then enter the limiter. The tires can no longer take it from that speed.

A Brabus creation is obviously not complete without the necessary external modifications. First of all, there are the partially closed wheels, which measure 21-inch front and 22-inch rear. To accommodate the wider tires, the mudguards have been further knocked out. Brabus does not state how wide those tires are, but the copies of the standard GT 63 are already 295 mm wide at the rear. In addition, the air intakes in the front bumper have become significantly larger and two large bites have been taken from the grille to cool the power source more effectively. Under the rear bumper is a carbon diffuser with four tailpipes. To generate more downforce, Brabus has mounted a larger rear spoiler. According to the tuner, the body kit is not just for embellishment, Brabus says that all parts in the wind tunnel have been developed to actually improve the airflow. Of course Brabus has not missed an opportunity to provide the exterior with its own logos.

Ten pieces

In the market for a missile? Then you have to be quick, because Brabus only builds ten copies of this extreme GT 63 S. Probably no one will be the same because you can put everything together according to your wishes. This applies not only to the exterior, but certainly also to the interior. The leather on the seats and doors has been patterned, the Brabus logos are embroidered in the headrests and of course there is a different set of pedals. The price of all this? This is well above € 400,000. Excluding taxes.

With 900 hp, this Brabus still has to lose out to Posaidon’s AMG GT 4-door, which kicks it up to 940 hp. Brabus does things differently, however, so that the Rocket also delivers full power for German buyers. You can read here why this is not the case with the Posaidon.
