With the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van you can perfectly deliver calzones, burgers and lahmacuns. Or you can use it as a security bus.
The Citroën Berlingo is a great success for the French brand. The car is the first of its kind. The Berlingo was designed as a ‘Ludospace’. On the one hand as a fully-fledged company car, on the other as a practical family car. Before that, they were often B-segment hatchbacks with a loading box stuck behind.
Third generation
The new Berlingo has been around since 2018. In addition to a 1.2 ‘PureTech’ petrol engine and a 1.5 ‘BlueHDI’ diesel, there is now also an electric Berlingo. This is of course called the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van, with the characteristic dots above the ‘e’.

Citroën ë-Berlingo Van
The Citroën ë-Berlingo Van has an electric motor with 136 hp (100 kW) of power and 260 Nm of pulling power. You can use that power in ‘Power’ mode. In Normal you have 109 hp and 180 Nm at your disposal. If you put it in the ‘Eco’ mode, there is 82 hp and 160 Nm available.
The action radius is then a bit larger. According to the WLTP, a maximum of 275 km is possible. The top speed of this relaxed Citroën is limited to 130 km / h. For the range you have to switch on the ‘Eco’ mode, for the extreme V-max you need the ‘Power’ mode
Fast charging
Fast charging is possible, with a maximum of 100 kW. This puts the battery of the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van at 80% in 30 minutes. At a wallbox at home you can charge the delivery van to 100% in 7 hours and 30 minutes with a monophase charger or 5 hours with a three-phase wallbox.
If the specifications sound familiar to you, that could be right. This motor plus battery is also available in the larger PSA / Toyota vans. In terms of construction, you can choose from four body variants. installation and paneling can be arranged afterwards.

Sister models Citroën ë-Berlingo Van
You can bet that this electric company car will also be sold under other brand names. Especially now that PSA and FCA have merged into Stellantis. An Opel Combo-e, Peugeot e-Partner, Toyota ProAce City Electric are a certainty. A Fiat version (Doblo-e) seems plausible. Hopefully a Lancia Brutto or Alfa Romeo Lento is not an option.
The Citroën ë-Berlingo Van will be at the better Citroën dealer in the second half of 2021.
