Concept: 3 improvements for iPadOS 15

June 7 Apple unveils iPadOS 15 and a new concept shows what the possibilities are. We list the three biggest (possible) improvements.

iPadOS 15 concept shows better widgets

The concept was created by Parker Ortolani. The graphic designer has made a prototype of iPadOS 15 based on rumors. The concept is therefore not one hundred percent reliable, but it does indicate the possibilities.

1. Widgets are given breathing space

iPadOS 14 has widgets, but they don’t work optimally. The expanded windows are stuck in the side menu on the iPad home screen and therefore have little room to move.

It therefore seems logical that Apple takes the next step with iPadOS 15 and makes widgets suitable for the entire home screen. That way you can place the expanded apps everywhere and you are not stuck with the imposed restrictions.

2. Today view becomes more practical

Speaking of the side menu (which is officially called the Today view), Ortolani sees multiple ways to improve it.

The designer shows in the concept how iPadOS 15, for example, can also place shortcuts, folders and files in the small menu. This is useful for the multitaskers.

3. App library makes the switch

iOS 14 introduced the App Library: a handy place where your apps are arranged by ‘genre’, such as games, navigation or social media apps.

Strangely enough, the function was missing on iPadOS 14. Ortolani therefore shows that Apple would be wise to process the App library in the Dock.

WWDC 2021

WWDC 2021 will take place on June 7th. During this online conference, Apple will reveal the new software versions. The star of the evening will be iOS 15, the 2021 iPhone update, but watchOS 8, macOS 12 and iPadOS 15 will also be announced.

Few rumors about the new iPad software have emerged yet. So it will be exciting where Apple is coming June 7th. However, it is expected that Apple will focus more on privacy and improve widgets. In the article below, we look ahead to the new update.
