Delage is back showing D12

The classic French car manufacturer Delage is back. And how. During Top Marques in Monaco, the brand revived at the end of last year will present the D12!

Delage was originally a brand that was founded in 1905, which, in addition to racing, was engaged in the development and production of luxurious and therefore expensive automobiles for those who were particularly well into the weak more than a hundred years ago. The brand has produced various beauties in model families such as D6 and D8. In the 1950s, Delage was incorporated into Hotchkiss along with Delahaye, but the Delage brand name was revived at the end of last year. During Top Marques in Monaco, it shows its firstborn: the D12.

The D12 is a straightforward supercar that contains few of the classic lines of the original Delages. That does not make the car any less interesting, because the exterior with its bizarre lines can in any case be called remarkable. Just as Delage’s passenger cars were derivatives of racing cars, the brand says the D12 is as close as possible to an “F1 road car”. The D12 is powered by a 7.6-liter naturally aspirated V12, which works together with an electric motor. Yes, the D12 is a hybrid. The system power is in principle 1,000 hp, although Delage already speaks of the arrival of a 1,010 hp variant: the Club version. It is also 90 kilos lighter than the original. The transmission is an automatic with eight speeds.

The Delage has a starting price of, do not be alarmed, € 2 million. There will be a total of thirty of which two have already been given. The first copies should be delivered in the second half of 2022.
