Do you own a Ford Mustang Mach-E? Check if your glass roof is still attached

Earlier this year, Darren Palmer, head of Ford’s EV division, gave a big sneer at Tesla. Responding to Tesla’s lingering quality issues, Palmer boasted about how well the bumpers and panoramic roof, among other things, held up on the Mustang Mach-E. It seems Palmer needs to reconsider his words. The Mustang can be found in the recall register of the RDW. The problem: the panoramic roof can come off.

Ford should be more careful with his words: 'The roof of the Mustang Mach-E won't come off'?

According to the RDW, the panoramic glass roof of the Ford Mustang Mach-E cannot be fully or correctly attached to the vehicle. If this is the case, it may partially come off, resulting in possible leakage. But completely letting go is also possible, with all the associated dangers.

Back to the dealer

It is not clear from the report from the RDW which versions of the Ford Mustang are involved. Owners at risk can expect a letter very soon asking them to take their vehicle to a Ford Authorized Repairer. An extra layer of urethane glue on the inner edge of the roof should provide the solution.
