Donkervoort offers D8 GTO JD-70 upgrades separately

Donkervoort comes every year with a new, improved and / or extra heavy version of its D8 GTO. Those who want can upgrade an earlier D8 GTO from now on with parts from later versions.

The Donkervoort D8 GTO was presented in 2011 and marked a big step in the history of Donkervoort. With its solidly grown exterior dimensions, mean headlights and bizarre performance, the GTO went a lot further than its predecessors in every respect.

Now, with a timeless car such as the Donkervoort built in very small numbers, it is just as unfeasible as it is unnecessary to come up with a completely new model every few years. That is why Donkervoort has opted since the introduction of the D8 GTO to present the model in a new form every year. The car then continues in that form, until a decorated, revitalized or otherwise modernized variant is ready a year later.

In 2020 Donkervoort was extra busy, because the D8 GTO JD-70, D8 GTO JD-70 Bare Naked Carbon and D8 GTO JD-70 R were ready on the occasion of the seventieth birthday of founder Joop Donkervoort.

The upgrades that turn a ‘normal’ D8 GTO into a JD-70 are now also available for the lucky ones who already drive a D8 GTO. Interested parties can browse to their heart’s content in a brochure specially prepared for this purpose. It knows the components ‘Interior and Design’, ‘Performance’, ‘Safety’ and – yes – ‘Comfort’. In the latter category we find, among other things, a windshield, a reversing camera and adjustable power steering. Anyone who wants to see everything can access the relevant document view here.
