Electric Cupra Born tested at the Arctic Circle

The fully electric Cupra Born, the Spanish brother of the Volkswagen ID3, has been put to the test by Cupra near the Arctic Circle. Cupra herself shares these images of it.

Cupra will soon come with an electric car that you can recognize as the Spanish equivalent of the Volkswagen ID3: the Born. As you would expect from Cupra, it will be a car that, despite its now well-known base, puts more emphasis on sporty driving. Whether Cupra has done its homework well in this regard, the technicians and best test drivers of the brand can now discover in the far north. There, the Born is seriously trampled on at temperatures of up to -30 degrees Celsius.

In any case, it produces spectacular pictures, but there is not really much surprising. The Born looks almost like two drops of water resemble the study model, the el-Born. This also means that the relationship with the Volkswagen ID3 cannot be missed, because the basic shapes of the electric Cupra are the same as those of the electric Volkswagen. The Cupra distinguishes itself, among other things, with a sharper-lined nose with gruffly the world in squinting headlights. At the rear, we also count on slightly more voluptuous lines than with the Volkswagen.

Because the Cupra has to move a bit faster than the ID3, the Spaniards will almost certainly skip one or maybe even all of the milder powertrains we know from the ID3. The concept version had 204 hp and a battery pack with 77 kWh capacity, making it the cream of the crop. According to Cupra, the Born should be able to travel 500 kilometers with a full battery, although you will of course have to throw it more efficiently than sporty driving. Interested? Then keep an eye on the site next month, because in May Cupra presents the Born!
