Electric Opel Combo-e presented

Opel has presented the electric version of its smallest commercial vehicle. As expected, the Combo-e is packed with known technology.

Earlier in January, it was Citroën that presented an electric version of its smallest delivery van. The brand introduced the ë-Berlingo Van to daylight and now it is Opel that takes its equivalent of that car to the podium. We welcome: the Combo-e.

The Combo-e is the electric version of the Combo van and therefore not the electric version of the passenger version that goes by the name Combo Life. In all cases, the Combo-e has a 50 kWh battery pack in its bottom, which gives it a WLTP range of 275 kilometers regardless of the chosen version. Who gave that up range no need to approach, the Combo-e kicks to 100 km / h in 11.2 seconds thanks to the 136 hp and 260 Nm strong electric motor. The top speed is set at 130 km / h. The battery pack can be pumped up to 80 percent of its capacity with electricity on a 100 kW fast charger in half an hour.

Opel supplies the electric Combo-e in two lengths. The 4.4-meter-long basic version has a wheelbase of 2.79 meters and can – thanks to a clever hatch under the front seats – transport objects up to 3.09 meters in length. The payload is 800 kilos, the load volume 3.3 to 3.8 cubic meters. Opel also has a 4.75 meter long Combo-e XL on the menu with a 2.98 meter long wheelbase. This variant has a loading volume of 4.4 cubic meters. The draw weight is equal to that of the shorter Combo-e. The maximum towing weight of the short and long Combo-e is also identical at 750 kilos.

The Opel Combo-e will be available at Dutch dealers from autumn. Prices will follow in the run-up to the market launch. Incidentally, Opel is also launching electric versions of other vans. Later this year, Rüsselsheim will launch the Vivaro-e and Movano-e.
