Elon Musk wanted to sell Tesla to Apple

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has again taken the controls and explains on Twitter that the first steps were taken in 2017 to sell Tesla to Apple.

The Tesla Model 3 can no longer be ignored in the Dutch street scene. Although the production of the little brother of the Tesla Model S is now going well, that was not always the case. In 2017, Tesla was in what was then described as a ‘production hell’. The Model 3’s intended production goals were rarely met, resulting in extensive delays. A difficult period for Tesla and therefore also for CEO Elon Musk, the CEO says on Twitter.

A few years ago, during “the dark days of the Model 3”, Elon Musk would have put a line at Apple to discuss a possible acquisition of Tesla by Apple. According to Musk, Apple CEO Tom Cook eventually went for it. Musk would have been willing to sell Tesla in 2017 for an amount less than a tenth of its current market value. Musk is undoubtedly pleased that the deal did not take off three years ago. In November this year, Tesla’s stock market value broke through the magical $ 500 billion mark. This made the company worth more than Volkswagen, Toyota, Hyundai Motor Company and Ford added together.
