The Raptor versions of Ford’s pickups are of course well known. A slightly snowed-under but also fun performance is called Tremor. The F-150 will be adding it soon.
Just freshen up; where did we see the name Tremor before? Well, not very long ago with the Ranger. In addition to a Raptor, the pick-up was small by American standards, but also a Tremor version. You can see that as a package of adjustments for whom a Raptor goes a bit too far. A ‘Raptor light’, to put it disrespectfully. Judging from the pictures we have here in front of us, there is also an F-150 Tremor coming soon.
As with the Ranger Tremor, it is clear that there are some Raptor-like features, but it all looks just a bit less extreme. Most striking is the modified dark grille, where, unlike the F-150 Raptor, the brand name is not written out, but simply the logo is in the middle. The F-150 is also clearly higher on its legs than normal, because the Tremor must also be able to handle a bit better in rough terrain than a regular F-150. In addition to the longer travel, this version is expected to have additional underfloor guards and a rear differential lock for a smarter distribution of forces on the rear wheels. Those wheels are also clearly larger than usual and they have special off-road tires. Although it is now not visible due to the camouflage, there will probably also be various stickers and emblems on the car to distinguish it from a normal F-150.
It is not the first time that an F-150 Tremor is coming, the previous generation was already available in such a version. It only looked a bit more sporty than its bald-headed brothers, now the attention seems to be more on a rough appearance. By the way, the F-150 Tremor is not only optically a lot more subtle than the F-150 Raptor; We should not expect the 450 hp 3.5 EcoBoost V6 from the top F-150 here either. Count on a 375 hp version of the same engine at the most. Still nothing to be ashamed of. Here in the Netherlands, we should not – not surprisingly – expect him through the regular channels.
