Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan is loose

Lovers of small and perhaps somewhat uncomfortable looking sedans beware. Hyundai has presented the Grand i10 Sedan, an almost four meter long four-door with well-known technology!

The current and still fresh i10, such as Hyundai places in Dutch showrooms, is sold as Grand i10 Nios in countries such as India. That Indian version of the i10 has a wheelbase that is 2.45 meters two centimeters longer than that of ‘our’ copy. The total car length is no less than 14 centimeters longer at 3.81 meters. The Grand i10 Nios has a sedan brother in the form of the Hyundai Aura, which is now presented as a Grand i10 Sedan for the South and Central American market. Hyundai is also bringing the Grand i10 Nios to these markets, although the five-door simply goes through life as a Grand i10.

Just like the Aura, the Grand i10 Sedan is 5 millimeters after four meters. Just like its previously presented Indian brothers, the extremely compact four-door has a nose that is slightly different from that of the European versions. The i10 known here has two round LED elements in its grille, while the more ruggedly decorated N-Line version has three more vertical LED stripes in that place. Just like its Indian Grand i10 Nios twin brother, the new Grand i10 will have a grille with a few boomerang-shaped LEDs on either side. The Grand i10 Sedan here has two of those right-angled LED lights on each side. The luggage compartment of the Grand i10 Sedan has a capacity of 402 liters. Considerably more than the 260 liters that the Grand i10 (hatchback) swallows, which again offers a little more luggage space than the European i10, which kicks it to 252 liters. Are we still there?

The new Grand i10 (hatchback) and Grand i10 Sedan will soon be available with an 83 hp 1.2 petrol engine, which can be linked to a manual five-speed gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine that Hyundai is spooning into the Grand i10 Nios and Aura in India, a 1.2 CRDi with 75 hp, is not coming to the American markets. You can say what you want about the design of the Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan and its identical Aura brother, but it is clear that the design department has given the sedan a more sparkling look than predecessor Xcent. The last generation of these was presented in 2014. In 2017, the model was subtly facelifted. Just like the Xcent at the time, the Grand i10 (hatchback) and Grand i10 Sedan are not coming to the Netherlands.
