Legendary stuntman Rémy Julienne passed away

Rémy Julienne passed away at the age of 90. Julienne was the man behind countless stunts and car chases in films and TV series for decades.

Perhaps when you hear the name Rémy Julienne, a bell will not immediately ring, but the chance is almost nil that you have never looked at his work. Julienne was the man who, from the 1960s onwards, provided countless world-famous films and television series with the necessary car spectacle. The Frenchman has worked as a stunt driver and as a choreographer for stunts and chase scenes on around 400 films and in total even more than 1,400 productions.

The best-known examples of Julienne’s work are without a doubt the countless James Bond films where he coordinated the stunts, but also the Taxi films from his own country and of course ‘The Italian Job’. The first movie Julienne worked on was ‘Fantomas’ from 1964. One of his latest achievements was featured in ‘The Da Vinci Code’ from 2006. Julienne died on Thursday evening at the age of 90 from the consequences of the corona virus.

The famous chase in The Italian Job (1969) is one of the most striking examples of Julienne’s impressive portfolio.
