The MAN TGE offer is supplemented by the ‘Coach’. A variant that rubs close to a coach.
MAN is part of the Volkswagen Group and that gave the brand the opportunity to take a solid point of the van’s tail in addition to trucks and coaches. They took a Volkswagen Crafter, fitted it with a modified nose and voilà : the TGE was born. In short, of course. There were already the well-known order versions of that TGE, but now MAN is adding this Coach.
The Coach is no less than 7.4 meters long and 2.62 meters high, making it spacious enough for a maximum of 16 seats. The passengers look fine, it all looks more luxurious than utilitarian. The TGE has been given a real sliding door on the right side, as we see on coaches and city buses, to facilitate entry.
The well-known extra-long TGE has been used as a basis, so the modified Crafter nose hides a 2.0-liter turbo diesel producing 177 hp and 410 Nm. Switching is done with an eight-speed automatic transmission, but – and that seems to us to be an option that will hardly be chosen – a manual six-speed gearbox is also available. It is not yet known what the TGE Coach will cost.
