Mastery on your Mac: next-level productivity with six handy actions

The great thing about learning the right shortcuts on your Apple Mac is that it saves a lot of time. But then of course the question remains which keyboard shortcuts you should learn first. We have listed six of our favourites.

This will probably make your life a lot easier.

Use your Apple Mac at full speed

Of course you can swing back and forth with your mouse, but you can save more time by learning shortcuts. Check out these six shortcuts below.

#1 Quickly through all your programs

By simply pressing Command and Tab you will see all your open programs. Then hold down the Command key and tap the Tab key to jump through all your programs.

#2 ‘Hide’ an open program

Of course you can click on the yellow line in a program to hide a window. However, that is asking too much in our opinion. We prefer to hit Command-H instead. As a result, the program parks itself neatly in the taskbar again.

#3 Search your Apple Mac as Sherlock

It often happens that you are looking for a file or a certain program. Spotlight is ideal for that. You can directly invoke this useful tool by pressing Command-spacebar on your keyboard.

#4 Share a url super fast

If you’ve found a cool or useful web page you’d like to share, you can click it twice to copy the address. However, with the shortcut Command-L you immediately grab the url. This trick works great in Safari, Chrome and other web browsers.

#5 Reopen a closed tab on your Apple Mac

You may very well have closed a browser tab with some enthusiasm. If you want to get it back, just use Command-Shift-T on your keyboard. This ‘trick’ works very well in most web browsers.

#6 Open something new in many programs

One of the simplest keyboard shortcuts is Command-N. It opens many useful features depending on the program. So you immediately have a blank email in Mail, a new note in Notes and a new event in Calendar.

All in all, these are fine, small tricks that increase the work pace considerably. Check out more useful Apple tips here.
