Mini Countryman John Cooper Works renewed

Mini has renewed the sportiest version of the Countryman. The sharpened Mini, which is actually not so mini anymore, is available from Dutch dealers in November.

In May of this year, Mini introduced the renewed Countryman to the automotive country. The largest Mini you can currently buy, just like its brothers and sisters, was equipped with new lighting on both the front and rear and with new bumper work. Mini has kept the revamped version of its long-legged sportiest flavor to date, but today is also the day that the Countryman John Cooper Works is presented.

Anyone who has counted on Mini to inject the Countryman John Cooper Works with a dose of extra power during the side points, we must disappoint. At least, let it down … The Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) already underwent a solid course of power last year, with the power of the 2.0 four-cylinder increased to 306 hp and 450 Nm, just 75 hp and 100 Nm more than before. That power remains neatly intact and is again distributed over all four wheels via an eight-speed Stetronic Sport automatic. Who kicks the Countryman JCW on the tail, has the five-seater in 5.1 seconds at a speed of 100km / h. The adjustments that Mini is now making mainly relate to looks.

The sportiest Countryman, too, is now endowed with the signature Union Jack tail lights and gets the same new front lighting as its less potent siblings. On the back we see a completely new rear bumper while Mini leaves the bumper on the front almost intact. However, the grille is renewed, including the red trim. Where previously the red line followed the shape of the grille, Mini now optically extends the dividing line between bumper and hood with a clean red line. As with the regular Countryman, LED headlights are standard on the John Cooper Works, adaptive LED viewers are optional. Mini puts new paint finishes, White Silver Metallic and Sage Green Metallic on the order lists and also offers the new option to go for the Piano Black Exterior package. Anyone who ticks that dark package gets gloss black instead of chrome finish around the headlights, taillights and grille. In the interior, digital instruments with a diameter of 5 inches are now available for a fee. Also optional: the 8.8-inch large screen that is linked to the Connected Media infotainment system.
