Mini John Cooper Works redone

Mini recently renewed the three-door, five-door, Convertible and Electric. Now it is pushing forward the John Cooper Works which has been similarly honed.

At the beginning of this year, Mini presented the simultaneously subtly facelifted three-door, five-door, Convertible and Electric. That the three-door has been addressed, now also brings news for the John Cooper Works. The JCW gets, just like its less sporty brothers, a quite different nose. From now on, the grille has a wider frame, all the way to the bottom of the heavily rebuilt bumper. The air intakes have been set up completely differently than before and now partially fall within the hexagonal grille frame.

At the back they have also been busy. The rear bumper is a lot more angular in shape and there is now a trim that should look more like a real diffuser. This makes the JCW noticeably sportier than before. Mini also puts some new alloy wheels on the order list, such as the 18-inch ones in the photos above. In the interior, the JCW naturally benefits from the same innovations as the regular three-door and that means, among other things, that you will now find an 8.8-inch infotainment screen that works with an improved and newly arranged infotainment system.

On a motor level, much remains the same. This means that a 231 hp 2.0 four-cylinder turbo engine sends its power to the front wheels via a manual six-speed gearbox as standard. This makes the John Cooper Works able to sprint from a standstill to 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds. If you want to do that a little faster, sign up for the eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, because then the job is done in 6.1 seconds. The updated Mini John Cooper Works is available from € 45,900.
