Mitsubishi stops shipping three models to Europe

A remarkable message about Mitsubishi: the Japanese manufacturer would stop shipping the Outlander, Eclipse Cross and ASX to the European continent as of September.

The broom will pass through the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance and for the European market that means, among other things, that Mitsubishi will significantly reduce its presence. At the end of last month it was announced that the brand will at least not be bringing new models to Europe for the time being. As far as known, the current range will remain available for the time being. That would mean that for the time being you can still just knock for a new Space Star, Eclipse Cross, Outlander, ASX and L200. However, three models now seem to be on the way sooner than expected.

According to Automotive News The shipping of the Eclipse Cross, Outlander and ASX to Europe will be stopped as of September. A ‘source close to the brand’ reports this to the medium. The Space Star and L200 would still come our way until the end of next year. If that is the case, it would be a huge blow to the brand. Although the Space Star is currently the best running model here in the Netherlands, the Eclipse Cross, Outlander and ASX also provide the necessary numbers and higher profit margins. Last year, Mitsubishi sold 2,003 copies of the Outlander, 920 of the Eclipse Cross and 880 of the ASX.

However, it may not be enough for Mitsubishi to continue with it and there is haste to cut the global offer. Mitsubishi Europe would not like to comment on the rumors. Mitsubishi Netherlands does not answer it after inquiring from Techzle.
