Also up to 700 kilometers range?
Within the next two years, Peugeot will bring five completely new electric cars onto the market. One of these is the successor to the current generation Peugeot 5008. It will only be available with fully electric powertrains and can be seen for the first time in these spy photos.
Peugeot has the ambition to become the largest manufacturer of electric cars in Europe. The brand will of course not succeed there without significantly expanding the EV range. Within the next five years, five new electric cars from Peugeot will come onto the market. Some of them are already quite concrete. For example, Peugeot counts the electric E-308 and station brother E-308 SW among the electric newcomers. In addition, the already announced electric version of the 408 is also one of the five new EVs. The remaining two electric debutants are the successors to the 3008 and the 5008. We once showed you the new Peugeot 3008 on spy screen and now we have the brand new Peugeot 5008 on offer for you.
The new generation Peugeot 3008 and 5008 will be fully electric models. So they don’t get combustion engines. These will be the first two models from Stellantis to be placed on a variant of the new STLA platform. More precisely, the STLA Medium variant of that new EV-only platform family.
Peugeot ‘5008’
With the new 3008 and 5008, which will probably be called e-3008 and e-5008, Peugeot takes a different tack than with the current generations. The new Peugeot 3008 promises to have a steeper sloping roofline than the current model. The new Peugeot e-5008 in turn seems to take on the role of the current 3008. Whether there will also be a seven-seater version based on the new 3008 and 5008 is not clear at the moment. We keep a small caveat in the whole 3008 and 5008 story. It is not entirely excluded that the car in these photos is the new 3008 and that the previously snapped new Peugeot SUV with the more sloping roofline, for example, will be named 4008.
You don’t have to wait long for the new 3008. It will come in the second half of this year. The new e-5008 follows shortly after the unveiling of the new electric Peugeot. According to Peugeot, the new e-3008 will be available with three different powertrains, including one with two electric motors. Peugeot already gave a range of up to 700 kilometers for the e-3008.
