Countless new Netflix movies and Netflix series appear every month. It’s difficult to keep track of everything, so we like to list the best films and series that are new on Netflix. This is new on Netflix in December!

The Ripper

A new true crime miniseries will be released on Netflix in December. In the period between 1975-1981 there was a serial killer active in America who was nicknamed The Yorkshire Ripper. He made about twenty victims of which thirteen died. He processed his victims with tools, among other things. This documentary miniseries speaks to witnesses and police officers about the hunt for this serial killer, who died in prison on November 13.

The Claus family

When Jules Claus ‘father dies around Christmas time, Jules’ holidays are ruined forever. He doesn’t want to know anything about ‘the most beautiful time of the year’ and spends all his time in his grandfather’s toy store. However, he soon discovers a family secret that has been around for centuries: the men in the Claus family take on the role of Santa Claus! This role is passed on from generation to generation and now that Jules’ father is gone and his grandfather has broken his leg, Jules himself will have to get back into the Christmas spirit to save the Dutch Christmas party. This Netflix original film comes from Dutch soil and has well-known names of The Masked Singer in the cast. This makes this film very suitable to watch with the whole family during the holidays.

Limp

Gary Oldman plays Mank in this black and white Netflix Original movie. In it, we follow the screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz on his tumultuous journey during the filming of Citizen Kane (after the book of the same name by Orson Welles). This film gives you the real old Hollywood atmosphere and of course the fantastic acting of renowned actors such as Oldman and Amanda Seyfried.

Tammy

Tammy (Melissa McCarthy) is not doing well. If she hits a deer on the way to work, her car is so damaged that she can no longer drive it. When she is subsequently fired, has to walk home and finds her husband with another woman there, Tammy is the only one. She decides, together with her eccentric grandmother, who does not shy away from a good drink, to hit the road and have some adventures. In this comedy film, Melissa McCarthy is not afraid to show her best and most comical side. This means that we can enjoy a lot of physical comedy and hilarious situations.

Angela’s Christmas

Angela’s Christmas is an adorable animated movie that will be released on Netflix this month. When Angela goes to church with her family on Christmas Eve, she worries about the infant Jesus, who is lying very open and naked in the cold church. Afraid that he will catch pneumonia, Angela takes the holy baby home to warm up there. Ultimately, however, Angela is the one who stole the infant Jesus from the church. As a result, she now asks herself: when is a crime not a crime if you want to achieve something good with it?

The Prom

Those looking for an over the top musical can indulge themselves at Netflix this month. In December The Prom will appear with big names and famous actors such as Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden. The Prom is definitely something to look forward to this month! This is because an extravagant theater company ends up in a conservative village to support a secondary school girl on her way to the prom. It is her wish to take her girlfriend to the gala with her and she can use the help of this colorful company for that.

Canvas

In this animation film we see a painter who, after suffering a great personal loss, ends up in a depression. After this tragic event, the grandfather lost all sense and inspiration to paint. After many years, he decides to pick up the brush again. But he cannot do that alone.

The Midnight Sky

Augustine (George Clooney) is a scientist living alone in the middle of the North Pole. He desperately tries to contact the crew of a spaceship called Ether. This spaceship has been dispatched to search for a new planet for humanity to form a home base. A catastrophic disaster has taken place on Earth and the crew of the spaceship is in danger of returning home to an uninhabited and uninhabitable Earth. It means Augustine will have to go out and brave the rugged terrestrial landscape to get to an antenna that will allow him to reach the Ether crew before it is too late.

The White Tiger

An Indian maid’s sole purpose is to serve the wealthy family he belongs to as well as possible. Glory

This 1989 film is set in 19th century America, when a major civil war is tearing the country apart. During this war, the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment is formed, a group consisting of all black men. Captain Robert Shaw is appointed colonel of this regiment and he asks his friend Cabot Forbes to assist him in training and educating the men. However, both are white men that the regiment must train black men. A close relationship of trust and mutual respect arises, which was not common at the time.
