New on Videoland: best series and films of August

Videoland

Lovers of Dutch-language series and films will benefit greatly from Videoland. After a free trial period of two weeks you can take out a subscription from € 4.99 per month. What fresh films and series can you expect in August. This is new on Videoland.

Brussels (season 1)

Brussels is a ten-part series in which European politics is central. The makers zoom in on the relationship between the former lovers Moniek and Viktor. They are both in Brussels to lobby for their interests. Moniek works for an oil company, while Victor emerges as an oligarch with enormous assets. Who can negotiate a deal to build a coveted pipeline in the Eastern Bloc? Furthermore, the mysterious death of a Dutch MEP is investigated and striking relationships between the main characters are discussed extensively. This exciting series misleads viewers several times. Brussels seems somewhat inspired by the popular Netflix series House of Cards. The series can be seen from 8 August.

The Day (season 1)

Our southern neighbors regularly deliver interesting productions. The Day is an excellent example of this. As the title suggests, this twelve-part series takes place in one day. As soon as a bank robbery takes place in a small town, the situation is highlighted from the perspective of the robbers, hostages, next of kin and police officers. The first episode shows you over the shoulder of the police and next of kin, while the second episode shows what the situation is with the hostages and hostage-takers. Each episode is therefore always followed by an episode with the same time lapse from different perspectives. This credible series is an absolute must, provided you can withstand the necessary tension! The Day can be seen from August 5.

The Rookie (season 1)

Fans of a hefty dose of crime action can give The Rookie a try. The first season can be seen on Videoland from August 24 and tells the story of the recently divorced John Nolan. This 40-something moves to Los Angeles to pursue his ‘big dream’. John wants to become a successful police officer in a big city. In doing so, he faces quite a few life-threatening and unpredictable situations, in which his inexperience regularly gets in his way. Can John get by in the big city? The first season has twenty episodes.

Light as a Feather (season 2)

A group of friends plays a seemingly innocent game, but the teens die in exactly the same way as predicted in the game Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board. Logically, the remaining girlfriends panic and try to figure out who the next intended victim is. The teens do everything they can to prevent their own deaths. Can they discover who is causing death? This thriller version consists of sixteen blood-curdling episodes and can be seen on Videoland from 20 August. Do not expect a third season, because the producer has unfortunately scrapped the plans for this.

A Good Year (season 1)

Just like De Dag discussed earlier, Een Goed Jaar also has its roots in Belgium. Be patient, because Videoland will only put the drama series online on 28 August. When two friends in the Ardennes stumble across a cellar with wine and weapons from World War II, the discoverers take a walk with the truth. They claim to have found Adolf Hitler’s wine cellar. The need for money is the breeding ground for this fabrication, but their made-up story threatens to get completely out of hand. The cast includes Joke Devynck, Kürt Rogiers and Boris Van Severen. Unfortunately, a trailer has not yet been released.

Well-known films

Videoland also adds several well-known films this month. Enjoy names like Kill Bill (2), The Karate Kid: Part II, Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, Terminator Salvation, The Scorpion King, Surf’s Up (2), Non-Stop and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. .
