Opel Vivaro Life as Crosscamp Lite

Opel is adding a second version of the Vivaro converted into a camper van to the delivery range in Germany. The Vivaro was already available as a Crosscamp Flex, but is now also available as a somewhat stripped-down Crosscamp Lite.

Since last year, you could already turn to Opel in Germany for the Zafira Life Crosscamp Flex, a Zafira Life converted into a camper van with, among other things, a fixed kitchen unit. The Zafira Life Crosscamp Flex, taken over by Crosscamp, a Hymer Group brand, now gets a light little brother in the form of the Crosscamp Lite.

On the outside, he can hardly be distinguished from his Flex brother. This camping version also has two sliding doors and a large lifting roof. Yet there are differences, but they are mainly in the interior. For example, the Crosscamp Lite does not have a fixed kitchen unit and is therefore not a camper on paper. Creative cooking is possible, although you have to do your best. The Zafira Life Crosscamp Lite has only one extendable and also foldable gas burner that is incorporated in the luggage compartment and can only be used when the tailgate is open. Think of it as a tiny outdoor kitchen. In addition, Crosscamp provides the ‘camper light’ with a removable storage box that can be placed near the sliding door as well as at the very back of the Zafira Life.

Another big difference with the Flex is that the Lite is also optionally available with seven seats. Due to the fixed kitchen block, that option is not available with the Flex. The Lite does have storage space for a gas bottle, a battery to charge your mobile phone, for example, and a cool box with a capacity of 13 liters between the front seats on board. According to Crosscamp, the rear seat can be converted into a double bed ‘in a few simple steps’. Two sleeping places are available directly under the lifting roof.

The Opel Vivaro Life Crosscamp Lite is available in Germany as a 120 hp 1.5 Diesel with a manual six-speed gearbox and costs a minimum of € 44,499. The Crosscamp Flex is available in that capacity from € 45,999. So a small price difference. Rüsselsheim also has the 145 hp 2.0 Diesel and a self-igniter with 177 hp on the menu. Unfortunately, the Crosscamp versions cannot be ordered in the Netherlands, Opel reports to Techzle. So if you want one, you have to do business in Germany yourself.
