Peugeot gives PSE performance version to every model

The Peugeot 508 is the first Peugeot model to bear the Peugeot Sport Engineered label on its rear, but it certainly won’t be the last. This is evident from reports from the English AutoExpress.

Peugeot recently announced the prices of the 508 PSE, the sportiest flavor of the 508 range and also the first Peugeot to bear the Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE) label. The 360 hp and 520 Nm strong plug-in hybrid 508 will certainly not be the last Peugeot with PSE badges. Peugeot CEO Jean-Phillipe Imparato tells AutoExpress that it will ultimately come from every model that Peugeot has a PSE variant. Incidentally, Peugeot intends to apply the label only to electrified models.

However, that does not mean that every PSE version will be as powerful as the Peugeot 508 PSE. According to Imparato, that is a car that serves to give a signal, a real PSE flavor maker. Last week it was announced that Opel will come with an OPC version of the electric Corsa-e, a variant that will not be modified in terms of motor, but will draw its sportiness from things such as a stronger chassis and a more direct steering. This may also apply to the PSE version of the electric Peugeot e-208 and perhaps to many more Peugeot models. So what the PSE portfolio will look like in the future remains to be seen. That there will be a PSE version of the new 308, however, seems to be certain.
