Spy shots Peugeot 2008

Special plates from the ice-cold high north of Scandinavia. Our spy photographer ran into a remarkably packed Peugeot 2008.

Peugeot has done its best to hide the appearance of this 2008 under large pieces of plastic, styrofoam and black stickers. Unfortunately for the French, the center caps with Peugeot logos remained, although what can be seen from the headlights and taillights together with the grille betrays that this is a 2008. But, it is still a mystery why the Peugeot is so heavily packed.

The current second generation Peugeot 2008 appeared in 2019 and is therefore certainly not old enough to be completely replaced. Although the camouflage seems too intense for a facelift, it is most likely that a modified 2008 is hidden under the black paste. After all, he will be four years old later this year, so there is a significant chance that Peugeot will soon give its successful crossover a refresh. In addition, Peugeot will soon also have a new powertrain in the electric e-2008. The DS 3, Peugeot E-208 and Opel Mokka Electric already have it. A facelift is a good time to add that new hardware.

Another possibility is that Peugeot is here testing a simplified 2008 with combustion engines that the brand wants to market in growth markets. If we look at Peugeot’s international delivery range, we already encounter the current e-2008 in South America, but the previous generation 2008 is still on the price list as an alternative with combustion engines.
