Polestar 2 BST Edition 230

Polestar is again coming up with a special, extra sporty version of the 2. The BST edition 230 is very similar to the earlier Edition 270, but there will be 40 fewer.

The Polestar 2 BST edition 230 had already been announced, although we did not know at the time that it would be called that. To be fair: secretly the news is wafer-thin. The car looks like two drops of water on the BST Edition 270, which we could also drive earlier. It has the same chassis with extensively adjustable Öhlins dampers, which lowers the car by 25 millimeters. It also shares its Polestar 1 wheel-based wheels with the edition 270, as well as its fully painted bumpers and wheel arch edges. Even the ‘racing stripe’ all over the car returns. Under the skin it’s a lot of the same cloth: both BST versions have 476 hp, a power that is also possible on the ‘normal’ Polestar 2 by choosing the so-called Performance Pack.

The difference seems to be limited to colors and materials. Polestar also says that the BST versions are being used to ‘explore new colours, graphics and materials in a faster and more creative way’. In the case of the Edition 230, this is reflected in the color ‘Nebula’, a greenish tint that strongly resembles Volvo’s ‘Sage Green’. If you don’t want that, you can also choose ‘Space’. That’s Polestar slang for black. The interior is also black and executed in ‘MicroSuede’.

And then, of course, there’s the edition. The number in the type designation of both BST versions stands for the edition in which they are produced, which makes the new BST edition 230 slightly rarer than the earlier variant.
