OMG !!! SAVAGE !!! BURN !!! And everything else that is said after an easter egg on the RAM 1500 TRX ‘pisses off’ the Ford F-150 Raptor.
The new RAM 1500 TRX is a well-known recipe in several ways. On the one hand because it is a ‘Hellcat’. The well-known 6.2 liter HEMI V8 with a whopper of a supercharger, a block that delivers 712 hp. It is now in five cars (Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, Jeep Cherokee and RAM 1500), so that the most powerful RAM truck would get that engine is a well-known recipe.
The other well-known recipe is a quick truck in itself. Ford already did this in 2011 with the F-150 SVT Raptor and did it thinly with the F-150 Raptor at the time of the new F-150 in 2017. The latest has the well-known 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 and delivers 450 hp. In theory this is a competitor to the RAM 1500 TRX, but in fact Ford has no chance with a much smaller engine and almost 300 hp less.
It seems like RAM realizes that the 1500 TRX can basically eat the Ford Raptor completely. In fact, where the Raptor is named after a small, smooth dinosaur, the Velociraptor, TRX indirectly stands for T-Rex: Tyrannosaurus Rex, one of the larger dinosaurs. To portray this as a joke, there is one easter egg found on the RAM 1500 TRX.
The video above shows the easter egg see. If you lift the plastic canopy on the bike, you will see firstly the giant supercharger and secondly a plastic part with a picture on it. This image is a T-Rex that has a Velociraptor in its mouth. You will understand what this means.
It is of course quite simple to give Ford such a stab under water, since the two trucks are also cut from completely different wood in a way. For example, the Ford is 20,000 dollars cheaper: it saves a sip on a drink. Other statistics such as how well the cars hold their own on the dirt, and how much they are allowed to pull: these do not differ that much.
These kinds of jokes must have originated on a Friday drink. And the Marketing & Communication department will probably have ‘forgotten’ to inform Management about this.
“Just kidding, should be possible.”
