New renders of the iPhone 13 show a striking new camera design. Details about the cameras themselves are not mentioned, but the images give us an idea of what the iPhone 13 could look like.
New camera design for the iPhone 13
The iPhone 13 will get, according to MySmartPrice a new camera design on the back. There are still two cameras, just like on the iPhone 12. These are probably a primary 12 megapixel camera and a wide angle lens.
The cameras are no longer directly under each other, as was the case on the iPhone 12. Instead, the lenses are angled one below the other. The lenses are still on a square camera module on the top left of the iPhone, which extends slightly above the rest of the back.
What is also striking is that there is no Lidar sensor. That probably means that the advanced depth sensor will only be found on the Pro models of the iPhone this year. As usual, we do see a flash and a microphone on the camera module.
Smaller screen notch
Rumors about a smaller notch on the iPhone 13 series have been circulating for some time. These new renders also show a smaller notch, where the speaker can be found above the cameras and the Face ID sensors. In this way, Apple manages to make the screen notch a lot narrower. However, it does not get any shallower.
The question is to what extent we can believe the renders. Apple usually works with several prototypes, which have different designs. It is therefore difficult to say which design the final iPhone 13 will get based on leaked renders.
The source also says that it has received the renders from ‘sources from the industry’. That is very vague, so we have to take the renders with an extra grain of salt. For example, the images may have been distributed by a third party, such as a case manufacturer.
The iPhone 13 will be announced this fall
The new iPhones will likely be unveiled in September. Apple seems to release four models again this year. The rumor mill around the iPhone 13 has already started. For example, it seems that all devices get a high-quality 120Hz screen and an always-on display.
