Want your favorite websites always at hand on all your Apple devices? Exchange the Bookmarks in Safari via iCloud.

Bookmarks are shortcuts to web pages. Do you use Safari on different devices, for example on an iPad and a MacBook? Then it is useful to synchronize the Bookmarks via iCloud. So your favorite websites are available on any device. Make sure that the data from Safari can be stored in iCloud on each device. For the free online storage service iCloud, people need an Apple ID by the way.

Activate Safari in iCloud like this:

  • Click the apple icon in the top left of the menu.
  • click on System Preferences.
  • click on Apple ID.
  • If you are already logged in with your iCloud account on the computer, your details will be listed in the left part of the window. Not logged in yet?
    • Click in the field behind ‘Apple ID’.
    • Enter the email address associated with the Apple ID.
    • click on Next one.
    • Enter the corresponding password.
    • click on Next one.
    • A verification code may arrive on one of your Apple devices. On that device, click/tap Allow.
    • The code appears on the screen. Enter the verification code on your Mac.
    • Enter the Mac password if prompted and click OK.
    • Decide if you want to merge Contacts, Calendars, and Safari with iCloud. We click merge.
    • Decide if you want to set up Find My Mac. Read the explanation in the window for this. We click Allow.
