#2 Adobe Fresco

This fairly new drawing app from Adobe is specially made for the iPad and the Apple Pencil. It is therefore ideal for anyone who likes to draw. You use a lot of tools that you may know from Photoshop, such as Live Brushes, but also the handy selection tools and masking tools. Certain features are back behind a Creative Cloud subscription.

Adobe Fresco is available for free.

#3 Free form

Apple’s new Freeform app is intended as a collaboration tool, but it also works great for quick drawings. The app also works seamlessly with iCloud. This gives you easy access to your sketches on other devices, such as your iPhone and Mac. While there are multiple brush styles and color options, the personalization options are a bit more limited than other drawing apps on this list.

Freeform is available for free (as of iPadOS 16.2).
