There is a magnet in a hair dryer. How exactly does this work?

Asker: Kxxx, 24 years old

Answer

That magnet is the one of the electric motor. Every electric motor has a magnet. This creates a magnetic field. When we send a current through a conductor, it also creates a magnetic field. This causes attraction or repulsion of the conductor and the magnet.

In a hair dryer, the shape is chosen in such a way that it creates a rotating movement to turn the fan.
