This action (usually) puts an end to all your iPhone problems

Is your iPhone 14 or older iPhone not working properly? Chances are the solution is closer than you think. Nine times out of ten, with a certain action you put an end to all the problems you may encounter.

It often helps to restart your iPhone by simply turning the device off and then on again. This is of course so simple that it can hardly be called a trick, but if you somehow fail to switch off your device using the on/off button and one of the volume buttons (or via the settings ), then there is another method you can try.

Fix iPhone problems

It is also possible to force your device to restart. This method works from the iPhone 8 and newer, and therefore also for the iPhone SE 2. This method is especially useful when the touchscreen of your phone no longer works or when the device no longer responds.

First, briefly press and hold the upper volume button, then do the same with the lower volume button. Now press and hold the power button on the side until the Apple logo appears. From that moment you can release the button. Your iPhone should now reboot.

If that doesn’t work either

If this method doesn’t work, you could try your iPhone’s recovery mode. To do this, you need to connect your phone to a PC or Mac using a Lightning cable. Indicate on your device that you trust the PC or Mac.

Now press and hold the top volume button on your iPhone briefly, and then do the same with the bottom volume button. Then press and hold the power button again until the recovery mode screen appears. You will then see a laptop and a cable on the screen.

Open the Finder on your Mac or iTunes on a PC and choose your iPhone from the list. You can then choose to reinstall iOS on your iPhone by clicking update so you don’t lose any data. Of recovery everything on your smartphone will be deleted and you will get a fresh installation of iOS.

If you happen to have a backup (in the cloud) of your files, the latter option is not such a problem. But if you don’t have it, you may lose all your data. In that case, it may be smarter to contact Apple or a repair center first.
