This laptop has no less than 7 screens

We know that there are a lot of special hardware and gadgets on display at the CES and that is why we are a bit disappointed that it is precisely this laptop that cannot be seen at this event. Yet we cannot resist paying some attention to this beast.

This laptop has no less than 7 screens

If there is a place where this laptop would be at its best right now, then it is at a fair where smart litter boxes analyze your cat’s poop, toilet roll robots bring you toilet paper, flying cars show stealing and rollable televisions are presented. Yet this laptop shines there in the absence. And that while the company, Expanscape claims to sell prototypes.

“We are already selling prototypes because we see that there is an immediate demand for these computers in the DevOps, SecOps and CyberSecurity communities,” the company says.

Let’s look at the specifications: There is a Core i9-9900K in what the company calls a “heavily modified ODM laptop”. And reportedly there is also a Nvidia GTX in it. Official specifications and prices will come later this week, says Expanscape.

The big eye-catcher is of course the large number of screens, no less than seven: four 17.3-inch 4K panels, three 1920×1200 displays, “as well as an additional mini-display that displays system status information and user-configurable content”. Yes, this is clearly CES worthy.

Are we discouraged by the fact that the website does not mention a real address or telephone number, and that both come “soon”? Or that the e-mail that we have sent to the e-mail address of the company and in which we ask for more details and a price is bounced? A bit, but we give the company the benefit of the doubt and risk it. If Razer can … (ok, there were only three)

So if there is a real computer behind this prototype (and yes, we are skeptical), it is a great pity that we have not been able to drool over it at CES. Maybe next year with, say, 12 screens?
