Volkswagen Touran discontinued

Volkswagen Netherlands has definitively said goodbye to the MPV segment, because the Touran is no longer available in our country.

Since 2003, Volkswagen has supplied the Touran as a more compact option in addition to the more spacious Sharan. In recent years, three different generations of Touran have reported to the dealers, the last one since 2015. However, this will have the least long career in our country, because just five years later Volkswagen Netherlands closes the book of the MPV. With that, the brand as a whole says goodbye to the MPV segment, because that larger Sharan has also already disappeared. Space seekers are now referred to one of the various crossovers or SUVs.

This is not a huge surprise and certainly does not come as a blow, because the ever-popular Touran sees its annual sales in our country fall from more than 6,000 copies to a low of 468 last year. The Tiguan seems to be the big culprit, because if the sales figures of that SUV are compared to those of the Touran, there is an enormous growth in customers from about 2,000 people to, exactly, a peak of almost six thousand customers.

The Touran is still available in Germany. The Golf Sportsvan and Sharan also claim their place among the rest of the model range. If you really want to get a Dutch Touran on the head, there are still two new copies waiting for a new owner. These are more luxuriously equipped versions, so you have to take at least € 42,526 to the dealer. We are still awaiting Volkswagen Netherlands.
