You can read this in AutoWeek 9

Techzle 9 will be in the shops from tomorrow or on your doorstep this week. What are you reading in our packed magazine this week?

Those who prefer to look at used cars than brand new ones will be well catered for in Techzle 9. Of course we have the usual used car categories again, but there are also two interesting used cars tests. To start, we look at two young used Subaru’s. Because new Subaru’s have been priced out of the market due to bpm legislation, the Japanese are taking a different approach. They are deployed throughout Europe by our own staff. With a maximum of 20,000 kilometers on the odometer and a year of experience, Subaru’s are being retrieved and offered as young used cars. That saves a lot of money on the tax and the price looks much more favorable once. We got out of that ‘Approved Used’ fleet in two copies.

Subaru XV and Subaru Forester

Looking for spacious occasions that are several years old, but if you do not want a high-legged model, then a traditional D-segmenter might be interesting. In this segment you will find, for example, the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer and Renault Talisman Estate. More of everything: length, space, driving comfort and comparatively cheaper to purchase and use than an SUV. The Insiginia that we are testing is only barely three years old and costs about € 18,000. The Talisman is two years older and can already be sold for a mere € 16,000.

Hyundai i20 N

In terms of space, the new Hyundai i20 of course excels a lot less than the aforementioned cars, but it is also in a completely different class. A segment in which truly sporty versions are still very much alive and Hyundai is now also entering the battlefield for the first time. The Volkswagen Polo GTI and Ford Fiesta ST get a competitor: the i20 N. Whether it drives just as fast as its N-elements drenched carriage suggests, should of course be tried.

The i20 N isn’t the only fierce South Korean to be in the spotlight this week. We also drove a Kia Ceed GT that delivers a dose of extra horsepower thanks to tuner Giacuzzo. Because now the South Koreans have also been discovered by tuners.

Audi RS E-tron GT

In terms of performance, they all don’t come close to the brand new Audi RS E-tron GT. The fully electric GT is directly available as RS and that promises a spectacle. Performance figures with which the car rubs against the Porsche Taycan Turbo. Roy Kleijwegt was already allowed to take a seat behind the wheel of this electric powerhouse on behalf of Techzle.

On the less spectacular but equally relevant spectrum of the EV offer, we find two French cousins: the Citroën ë-C4 and Peugeot e-2008. Although the Citroën is brand new, the Peugeot is also still quite a fresh appearance. In terms of appearance, there is at least enough distinction to appeal to different people, but whether the two with the same basis also differ in terms of driving? Frank Jacobs figured it out.

Volkswagen Sharan Clock Round

With a car that has been with the same owner for fourteen years, you can be sure that it will be well looked after. But in this case it is a Volkswagen Sharan with a VR6 engine. Car and motorcycle are not known as the easiest. The mileage, which is approaching half a million, is already a very good achievement. Let’s see what happens when we release Joep Schuurman on the VW.

On the rollers this week is another car with the thickest engine you could get in it: the Mazda 3 MPS. In this case also one that has been raised even further. Sometimes that can backfire in the long term. Ghisbert van Ginhoven takes a sharp look at the Mazda to see if all the (extra) horsepower is still present.

All this and more can be read in the latest Techzle, which will be in stores this week from Wednesday. Would you rather not go out? Order from the easy chair the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your door within two working days.
