Apple has officially announced the iMac 2024! The most colorful Mac now runs on the M4 chip and has more RAM. This is the iMac 2024.
iMac 2024
The iMac 2024 has been presented! Apple has announced the new generation of the iMac with a press release. The device has made the switch to the M4 chip, with an 8- or 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU. The previous generation of the iMac was released in 2023 and was equipped with the M3 chip. The latest iMac also has up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Apple has made few changes to the design of the iMac 2024. The device has a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, just like the iMac 2023. New is the variant with nanotexture, which you can choose for a matte finish of the display. Above the screen we again find a 1080p FaceTime camera. The new generation of the iMac is available in seven striking colors. You can choose green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver. Apple has once again opted for a series of cheerful shades for the iMac 2024.

Apple Intelligence and more RAM
While Apple has barely adjusted the design of the iMac 2024, this does not apply to the functions under the hood. The device runs on the M4 chip and has 16 GB of RAM as standard. With the iMac 2023 you only got half the RAM, that device came standard with 8 GB of RAM. The new generation of the iMac requires more RAM, because the device will later be expanded with Apple Intelligence.
The iMac 2024 is the first iMac that is fully equipped with Apple Intelligence. This is reflected in the working memory and processor of the device. The M4 chip has a special part dedicated to all functions that work with Apple Intelligence. Many of these features are run locally on the iMac, for which the M4 chip has been specially developed. The iMac 2024 is therefore ready for the arrival of Apple Intelligence in Europe.

Release of the iMac 2024
In addition to the iMac 2024, Apple has announced a range of new accessories. The Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard are now equipped with a USB-C connection. Apple is officially saying goodbye to the Lightning port, which we saw in previous versions of the accessories. That means good news, because you now only need one cable to charge your iPhone, iPad and all Apple accessories.
