Gmail is one of the most used email services at the moment. Your Gmail account is of course accessible via the Gmail app, but can also be added as an account to standard iOS apps, such as Mail and Calendar. Below we explain how to set up Gmail on your iPhone or iPad.
Set up Gmail on iPhone
Adding your Gmail account to iOS offers more advantages than just receiving emails in the standard Mail app. This also makes it possible to synchronize all contacts, notes and agenda items that belong to your Gmail account with iOS. How to add a Gmail account.
- Go to Settings;
- Tap the ‘Passwords and Accounts’ menu;
- Here select ‘New account’ and tap the Google logo;
- Enter your email address and password in the browser that opens;
- Set the sliders to green behind the apps that you want your Gmail account to be synchronized with. This can be done with Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Notes;
- Tap Save when you’re done.
Do you have multiple Gmail accounts? That is no problem, because then you simply repeat these steps. It is possible to add multiple Gmail addresses, which is useful if you have an email address for both home and work.
