
Climate change not only ensures droughts, storms and heat waves, but also leaves mental traces: Many people feel fear and concern in view of the climate crisis. A new meta -analysis now shows which groups of people are most likely to prone to such climate fear – and what consequences this has for their well -being and their commitment to the environment.
Even if many do not want to admit or displace it: climate change is one of the greatest threats to our time. The global economic forum, for example, warns that the climate crisis could cause around 14.5 million deaths and economic losses of $ 12.5 trillion by 2050. The World Bank, in turn, estimates that until then 216 million people will be climate refugees because their homes are no longer habitable due to the climate changes, extreme weather or the increasing sea level. It is therefore not surprising that more and more people are worried or even fear of climate change and its consequences. But who is most affected by climate fear?
