Official: These Samsung phones get One UI 4.1

Samsung has started rolling out its latest software shell to various Galaxy phones. It concerns One UI 4.1, the software that was launched with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Samsung has also announced which Galaxy phones and tablets can expect this update. This is the complete list.

Which Samsung phones will get One UI 4.1?

At the end of February, there was already a rumor about the roll-out of the latest One UI software to the Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. That rumor has now been confirmed by a number of people on reddit† It concerns Canadian Galaxy S21 phones with a Snapdragon chipset. We expect the update to hit other variants and regions in a few days.

In addition, Samsung announces in a press release which other Galaxy phones can count on this update. Below is the full list:

  • Samsung Galaxy S21
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S10
  • Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S10e
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
  • Galaxy A Series
  • Galaxy Tab S series including the Tab S7 FE

The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite are not mentioned in the press release, and neither is the 4G version Galaxy S20 FE. So these phones probably won’t qualify. Samsung further names the Tab S7 FE, but more tablets will be eligible for the update. We hope that Samsung will include the Tab S6 and the Tab S6 Lite in the planning. From the Galaxy A series, we expect the 2021 phones to be eligible for One UI 4.1, such as the Galaxy A12, Galaxy A22, Galaxy A32, Galaxy A52(s) and the Galaxy A72. The 2020 devices may also be on the list. We are thinking of the Galaxy A42, Galaxy A21s, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A41, Galaxy A51, and the Galaxy A71.

New in One UI 4.1

One UI 4.1 is the software version that the new Samsung Galaxy S22 phones run on. Samsung’s One UI 4.1 isn’t a huge upgrade over the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 version. Still, there are a number of nice new functions in this version, including expanding the working memory and new Smart widgets. In this version you can also give the screen brightness an extra boost with the Extra brightness function. Another important new feature is the Pro mode in the camera app. This can be used for all lenses in this software version. In addition, users can also use the night mode and the ultra-wide angle lens in third-party apps.
