With an Apple TV you give your television a wonderful boost, so you can postpone buying a new one for a while. However, it is a shame not to get everything out of the handy device. With these 5 powerful settings you are certainly in the right place.
The Apple TV 4K 2022 is a relatively small upgrade of the predecessor from 2021. The device is equipped with the more powerful A15 Bionic chip and has more RAM and storage space. The settings that we discuss below can therefore be used with both versions.
Apple TV: 5 mighty tricks
With these tricks you can get even more out of your Apple TV. Here they come.
#1 Find out the battery life of your Siri Remote
Your Apple TV remote, also known as the Siri Remote, runs out of power over time. Fortunately, you can charge it, with the 2022 version even with a USB-C charger. It is very handy to put the remote control on the charger in time. Go to settings and press Remote controls and devices and then on Remote control. This way you know exactly how much battery juice is left.

#2 Switch between apps on Apple TV at lightning speed
You can easily return to the home screen of your Apple TV, but did you know that there is also a handy function that lets you switch between apps even faster? The function is very similar to what you know from your iPhone or iPad. Double-click the Siri Remote’s home button and you’ll see an overview of recently opened apps. With the trackpad you can switch quickly.
#3 What did he say?!
Did you miss what happened or what someone said on the screen? With the Siri Remote that comes with your Apple TV, you can easily go back a few seconds. Just ask Siri “What did he say?” or say “Go back ten seconds” and the smart assistant automatically rewinds the movie or series for you. Super handy!
#4 Use your AirPods while watching
Do you just want to watch that one movie or series while your partner or roommate has already gone to bed? Apple wouldn’t be Apple if you couldn’t pair your AirPods with your Apple TV. Go to settings and open Remote controls and devices. Press bluetooth and choose your AirPods from the list.
#5 Restrict AirPlay
AirPlay is a great feature that many Apple enthusiasts love to use, but to prevent others from streaming content to your TV, it is so useful to quickly change a setting. Go to settings and press AirPlay and HomeKit. Choose at Give access for Everyone on the same network, Only persons in this house or Require password. This is how you prevent everyone from hijacking your TV…
