Every day we do a tour of the internet for you to find the best apps in the App Store for your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. Today OMT editor Dunke van Boekel is going to tell you about iConnectHue, and why the app is ideal for controlling Philips Hue lamps in your home.
Philips Hue has a wide range of products that you can color your environment with. Whether that’s the whole house or just one specific room. With iConnectHue you can further personalize these spaces.
The benefits of iConnectHue
There are of course already a number of apps with which you can control Philips Hue devices, but iConnectHue has a lot more options in that respect than the official Philips Hue app. So if that’s not enough for you, this App Store Pearl might be worth it.
Grouping lights in iConnectHue goes pretty deep. You can add lights from other groups to another group, or group rooms and zones. In addition, it is possible to set certain animations for your Hue lamps and with the ‘Discotainment’ feature your lamps are synchronized with the beat of the music. This is done via the microphone on your iPhone or iPad.

There is also a lot of space in this App Store Pearl for setting up your accessories. Think of the dimmer switch or motion sensor. For example, you can set specific times for these products when they work.
Many options can also be selected in the widgets that iConnectHue offers. They are also a lot more extensive than the versions of Philips Hue itself, with the option to set timers and switch motion sensors on and off.
The costs in addition to your Philips Hue lamps
iConnectHue can be installed on your iPhone and iPad for 5 euros, but please note that certain features within the app must also be purchased separately. Consider, for example, the ‘Discotainment’ feature. (And Philips Hue products aren’t cheap either).
On the other hand, the app is regularly updated and new Philips Hue devices become available to add at lightning speed.

So whether your entire house is sufficient with Philips Hue lamps or whether it is only in the bedroom, it does not matter. With the App Store Pearl iConnectHue you get a lot more out of these lamps.
