Are you a music lover and would you like to keep an overview of your music collection?

With MusicBrainz Picard you can keep track of all songs in a database. You can store everything in it, such as information about artists, albums, tracks and covers.

Interestingly, the makers make the program available for different platforms. In addition to Windows, macOS and Linux are supported. It is open source and can be used for free.
The program supports multiple music formats, supporting all common formats like MP3, FLAC, M4A and WAV. You can enter the music information manually, but you can also get some help. In the software we find the function AcoustID, which recognizes music tracks based on their unique watermark. Compare this functionality with that of Shazam.
In addition, the makers have added support for plugins. This adds extra functionality to the program. A look at this collection shows that there are quite a few add-ons available, for example to help you tag the music. You can also ‘borrow’ tags from other music services, such as Last.fm.
The program has a simple structure. The upper part contains an overview of all music and music titles. The second section shows the meta information of the album.
