Apple’s MacBook has a beautiful, sleek look and is packed with useful functionalities, but that does not mean that there are also some things that could be improved. Later this year we expect macOS 14 and we hope that the following features will return in this update.
It is of course not certain that these functions will actually come to your MacBook, but it would be a pleasant addition to the laptop that fortunately already has a lot to offer. We would like to see these features again.
MacBook: Here’s what we’re hoping for
Do you want to know which new functions we would like to see on the MacBook. Here they come.
#1 Dynamic Island on the MacBook
When the iPhone 14 Pro appeared, we were pleasantly surprised with the Dynamic Island. We certainly see an opportunity for Apple to bring something similar to the MacBook and, frankly, we hope so too. A floating bubble at the top of the screen can easily keep you up to date with sports scores and other live notifications.
In addition, you could easily send a message without having to open the corresponding app. Ease of use for everything! And maybe the MacBook rocks the dynamic island even better than your iPhone…
#2 Notification sync
You will receive the same notifications on your iPhone, your MacBook and your iPad and they will not disappear if you have wiped them away on one device. It’s bizarre that Apple normally bets so well on continuity, but doesn’t do that for notifications.

Moreover, it would be nice if notifications you receive on your iPhone could be automatically forwarded to your MacBook. When you’re behind your laptop, you don’t want to constantly look away at your smartphone to see which notification has arrived.
#3 Internship Manager
The most annoying new feature on your MacBook right now has to be Stage Manager. It doesn’t work for a meter. As far as we are concerned, Apple should take a good look at the competition. Microsoft does a lot better with Windows when it comes to window management.
Multitasking on a MacBook doesn’t get any better with Stage Manager. Especially if you use multiple screens, the feature is a complete disaster. You simply cannot move or stack your windows quickly and efficiently. We hope that Apple will update Stage Manager in the near future so that multitasking is no longer a mockery.
