App Store Gems: CapCut is the best Final Cut Pro alternative on your iPhone, iPad and Mac

Every day we do a tour of the internet for you to find the best apps from the App Store for your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. Today OMT editor Dunke van Boekel put together an article about CapCut (the Final Cut Pro alternative) for you.

From developer Bytedance (of course known as the creators of TikTok), here’s the video editor CapCut. The app makes it easy to edit videos from your iPhone or iPad as well as your Mac and is a good alternative to Final Cut Pro.

Edit videos via your iPhone or iPad

Many people today record everything that happens to them in life. Whether you throw that on YouTube or TikTok for the whole world to enjoy, a video editor like Final Cut Pro is fun and useful, but CapCut is a much cheaper alternative.

CapCut is also very easy to use. A kind of Pixelmator for videos.

In addition to many options that you already expect in a video editor like Final Cut Pro, this iPhone and iPad app has, among other things, the built-in ability to convert speech to subtitles. There is support for this in a large number of languages. This also works the other way around, with a text-to-speech function that also lets you adjust the voice yourself.

There are now quite a few platforms where you can share your creations, which may require you to change the aspect ratio of your video. With CapCut on iPhone and iPad, just like with Final Cut Pro, this is done at the touch of a button. Just drag the field to the focus of the video and you’re done.

CapCut Pro instead of Final Cut Pro

With a Pro subscription you get 100 GB of Cloud storage. Handy, because then you no longer have to save everything on your iPhone or iPad. In addition, with Pro you get access to extra effects to use in your videos. Oh, and there’s no more CapCut watermark in your videos, which is nice too. You pay 12 euros a month for this subscription, which is considerably less than Final Cut Pro.

Are you ready to start editing videos on your iPhone and iPad? Then download the app and start cutting.
