Smart homes are an interesting development in the world of technology. Philips Hue is therefore a very popular option thanks to the lamps that the company produces.
These can simply be controlled via your phone with the app (although alternatives also offer even more options). But who knows, after a while you will get tired of the Hue products or you will simply find them too expensive.
5 powerful alternatives Philips Hue
Are you ready for something new or just orienting yourself on how to create your Smart Home? We have listed five alternatives to Philips Hue here.
#1 Nanoleaf is a kind of ribbed Philips Hue
Nanoleaf is best known for its luminous wall panels, but the company also makes light balls that look unique. Nanoleaf’s orbs can also simply be connected to Apple’s HomePod and Google’s smart speakers.
The Nanoleaf light strips can also be integrated into your Smart Home. With a price per light bulb of about 20 euros, you are also slightly below that of Hue in terms of budget.

#2 LIFX: Hue alternative with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
This Philips Hue alternative offers lamps that work via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. So you don’t need a hub or bridge to set up your network of lights.
Furthermore, LIFX’s lights support virtually every major virtual assistant, so you’ll be walking around your house like a Tony Stark in no time. You pay about the same for the LIFX products as you would with Hue.
#3 Philips WiZ: the brother of Hue
Although the WiZ products are part of the Philips family, these lamps unfortunately do not work together with the Philips Hue ecosystem. This may be due, among other things, to the lack of a hub (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are your friends here).
However, that does not mean that these lamps are a bad alternative. On the contrary, the light bulbs function fine and the WiZ app offers enough options to adjust the lights. Probably due to the lack of Hub support, you also get these lamps for a slightly lower price than those of Hue, also around 20 euros per lamp.
#4 ECOLOR: alternative with interesting designs
In addition to the well-known light bulbs and LED strips, ECOLOR has a few other interesting designs to distinguish itself from Philips Hue. Consider, for example, a table lamp in the shape of a crescent moon, which will drain about 40 euros from your bill.
And you don’t even need a hub for that. Please note, you can only control these lamps via Bluetooth. The price reflects this again, you only pay a tenner per light bulb.

#5 Yeelight: Hue alternative with Motion Sensor bulbs
As a final alternative, Yeelight also offers Motion Sensor lamps for your closet in addition to standard lamps and strips, and very intriguing light blocks have recently been announced that you can also adjust yourself.
A great choice if you’re tired of Philips Hue for a while. And the price is again not too bad.
