MacPaw today launched CleanMy®Phone, an application designed to carefully remove digital clutter and free up space for new memories on iPhone and iPad.
We know the Ukrainian company from CleanMyMac and ClearVPN, among others, but it is also the basis of Setapp, an all-in-one subscription service for Mac apps. CleanMyPhone gives you a smart and simple way to clean up, organize photos and check your network connection.
Gemini Photos as a basis
CleanMyPhone evolved from Gemini Photos – a smart tool from MacPaw launched in 2018 – the app quickly became popular, especially among users who take a ton of photos with their iPhone. The app gave you a smart and quick way to rid your photo library of screenshots, blurry and duplicate photos, but photos of documents and more.
By combining the power of AI with the experience behind Gemini Photos, CleanMyPhone offers a more comprehensive and efficient solution for iPhone and iPad users who have a large photo library and would like to clear out their storage space.
CleanMy®Phone for iPhone and iPad
Just like with Gemini Photos, the basis of CleanMyPhone is to clean up your photo library. Your photos are scanned in a smart and fast way for duplicate parts, blurry items, screenshots, photos of documents, notes and other ‘junk’. Ultimately, you can quickly delete unnecessary items via the app or keep them if CleanMyPhone has guessed incorrectly.
With three modules – Cleanup, Organize and Network – the app allows users to quickly clean up all unnecessary images, sort and polish photo libraries efficiently. In addition, you can quickly and easily test connection speeds for optimal online activity, useful on holiday.

CleanMy®Phone scans your entire camera roll for duplicates, blurry images, screen recordings, TikTok videos, WhatsApp photos and other unnecessary items, helping users make room for new memories.

Using AI, CleanMy®Phone analyzes your photo collection in detail and organizes it into folders based on common visual themes or subjects – travel, pets, food, portraits and text. This clever organization allows users to easily find specific images while highlighting the best copies of similar images.
Network
In addition to photo management capabilities, CleanMy®Phone offers network speed tests. Users can run a network speed test directly in the app. This functionality ensures that you are always aware of the performance of your internet connection.
Ready for the future
For now, CleanMyPhone only cleans and organizes your photo library. MacPaw does have the ambition to further expand this to even more apps. It may also be able to monitor the Files app and other storage hogs in the future and free up extra storage space. This includes cache files of social media apps.
