Now that Apple Pay is supported by more and more banks in the Netherlands, there is a good chance that you have added multiple debit cards to the Wallet app. More and more Apple Pay users are asking us whether it is possible to give a name to the payment card in the app or to change it.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to name your payment cards. You will therefore have to remember which payment card belongs to which account based on the last four digits, which can be a difficult job if you have linked multiple payment cards from the same bank. You can use OVpay to pay for public transport using your debit card. If you are still using QR or barcodes, Apple Pay or Google Pay may be triggered by the public transport gates at the stations.

This is because the ports use the NFC chip in your device. The columns can trigger this chip in the iPhone and automatically activate Apple Pay. For example, you cannot scan the QR code because your bank card appears on the screen. Sven Boor gave us an excellent tip: the free ‘Travel Ticket’ app.
