With Apple TV+ you can watch the Apple Originals series and films. After a 7-day trial period, you pay €9.99 per month or €99 per year. But there’s more, when you purchase an Apple product you can watch Apple TV+ for free for three months.
Students can also stream TV+ extra cheaply, because if you already have an Apple Music student subscription, you get Apple TV+ for free. This means that you can use Apple Music and TV+ for €5.99 per month.
What is Apple TV+?
Apple has started producing its own series and films for the first time with TV+. This is exclusive content that is only available via the Apple TV app can be viewed. The Originals are housed in the tv+ service and can actually be seen as a kind of TV channel. To view the media you must be in possession of a valid subscription and the Apple TV app.
Apple TV+ is a special category in the Apple TV app and only in this section you can subscribe. In the Apple TV app you will also find films from other production companies, these are the iTunes Movies and you still have to pay for these, so they are not covered by the TV+ subscription. Almost all Apple Original series and films are filmed in 4K, support Dolby Atmos, Dobly Vision and subtitles with audio description.

To use Apple TV+ you need the Apple TV app, which is available on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and since macOS Catalina on the Mac. New episodes every week
When adding new series, it is always a surprise how many episodes Apple puts online. For example, all episodes of Dickinson were immediately available at the launch of tv+, but some only three. Apple wants to stimulate ‘traditional’ TV viewing again and release a new episode every week. For example, Apple put the fourth episode of See, For All Mankind and The Morning Show online after a week. New episodes usually appear every Friday until the season is fully available, and new series are usually added on Fridays.

Watch Apple TV+
- Open the Apple TV app
- Navigate to the ‘Originals’ tab
- Open a series or movie
- Tap/click ‘Play’ or the play button
In addition to playing, you can also watch the trailer, consult additional information about the series or film or add it to your ‘Next’ (favorites function). You do the latter by tapping/clicking on the ‘Add’ button. You can then find these items at the top of the ‘Watch Now’ tab.
Activate or change subtitles for Apple TV+
You can adjust the subtitles or audio for all tv+ media. You can do this by playing the episode or movie and clicking/tapping the speech bubble at the media buttons and choosing the desired language. Do you not like the style and format of the subtitles? Then you can adjust subtitles to your personal wishes via these steps.
Apple TV+ subscription price
After a 7-day trial period, you pay €9.99 per month or €99 per year. If you have set up family sharing, one standard subscription is sufficient for the entire family. This means that when one family member takes out a subscription, everyone who is part of family sharing gets free access to the TV+ offer. In addition, Apple TV+ is also part of Apple One.
Anyone who has purchased an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV will receive free Apple TV+ for three months as a new subscriber, while students with an Apple Music subscription will receive free TV+.
Be careful when canceling!
During the one-year free trial, you must agree to a monthly subscription that will begin after the free period ends. Of course you can always stop this, but there is one for this tv+ promotion catch! In most cases you are allowed to wait out the trial period, but this is not the case with this promotion.
If you cancel the subscription during the one-year trial period, this will occur immediately to expire. You and your family members can then no longer use TV+ and you cannot reactivate the trial period. It is best to set a reminder to cancel your free subscription two days before it expires!
