Apple’s standard Maps app is becoming more and more complete and in addition to searching locations and routes, the application contains many more smart functions. This includes looking around (street view) and finding your parked car.
The Maps app can automatically remember for the user where your car is parked, so that you can always find it quickly. If you don’t want this, you can disable remembering your parked car in Apple Maps.
Disable remembering parking location
- Open Settings
- Go to ‘Cards’
- Disable the ‘Show parking location’ option
Once you disable the option, Apple Maps will no longer automatically place a pin at your car’s parking spot.

Delete location temporarily
Do you still want to use this function? It is then also possible to temporarily remove the parking location of your car from Apple Maps.
- Open the Maps app
- Below the search field, tap the Siri suggestion “Parked Car”
- Swipe the item up
- Choose ‘Delete car’
You can also use the ‘Move’ option to change the parking location.
Parked car in Maps
Do you still want to use this option? Then you can enable ‘Show parking location’ via the steps above. You must also meet a number of conditions. For example, your iPhone must be linked to your car, this can be done via Bluetooth or CarPlay. Once your iPhone is connected to your car’s entertainment system, iOS remembers its location if the connection is lost. You can read more information about this function in the highlighted article below.
