Attach, detach, charge, and more Apple Vision Pro battery

The Apple Vision Pro does not have an internal battery, instead Apple has opted for an external battery that you attach to the spatial computer. The charging cable can be connected to the Vision Pro via a magsafe-style connector and secured with a twist.

The reason why Apple opted for an external battery is to keep the headset as light as possible so that it can be used comfortably. Heat control was also important for this.

Before you can turn on and use the Apple Vision Pro, you must connect the battery. This is not only the case when the spatial computer is actively used. You can also leave the battery connected so the Vision Pro can sync your email, photos and more in the background.

Connect battery

  1. Insert the power cord into the power connector on the left audio band, with the cord bent slightly upward
  2. The dot on the power cable should align with the white outlined dot on the audio strap.
  3. Turn the power cord clockwise until it is secure
  4. When the power cable is successfully connected, the light will pulse
  5. Finally, the Apple Vision Pro turns on

Disconnect battery pack

Before disconnecting the battery from your Apple Vision Pro, it is recommended that you first save documents, files and progress. Then actively turn off the Vision by pressing and holding the top button and Digital Crown for a few seconds and dragging the slider.

You can also switch off the headset via Settings â–¸ General â–¸ Shut down. Then turn the power cable counterclockwise until it loosens.

It is not possible to change the battery while using the Apple Vision Pro. Once you disconnect the battery, the Vision will turn off and need to be restarted. The so-called ‘hot swap’ is not possible.

Battery installation

  • When wearing Apple Vision Pro, place the battery in a comfortable location close to your body, such as a pocket.
  • Do not place the battery near external heat sources.
  • Pay attention to the battery and cable while using Apple Vision Pro. For example, don’t sit down with the battery in your back pocket or pull the battery off your desk when you get up.
  • If the battery is accidentally disconnected during use, remove Apple Vision Pro from your head.

Charging Vision Pro battery

Connect the Apple Vision Pro battery to an electrical outlet using a USB-C charging cable and an Apple 30W USB-C power adapter. The light next to the USB-C port on the battery indicates charging status; amber means the battery needs to be charged and green means the battery is fully charged.

If the battery is very low on power, the light may flash amber, indicating that it needs to be charged before you can use Apple Vision Pro. Is the light off? Then gently tap or pick up the battery.
